White Cane Awareness Walk A Success
The White Cane Awareness Walk, a one-mile fun walk in downtown Phoenix, was held in mid-October in celebration of National White Cane Awareness Month. Valley residents of all ages participated to help support the FBC as well as Arizona's White Cane Law.

More than a dozen FBC SHARP students took part in the walk. Many of them raised more than twenty-five dollars in donations. Each received Awareness Walk t-shirts.
SHARP participant, AJ Black, was the top FBC fundraiser. He was awarded a thirty-dollar gift certificate to Target. Second place went to David Barraza who earned a twenty-dollar Target gift card.
Congratulations to each of the SHARP walkers who raised about eight hundred dollars for the Foundation for Blind Children. The funds will be used to increase the supply of white canes at the FBC.
