Literacy Day at FBC

The book chosen for the theme of Literacy Day held on March 13, 2008,  was If You Give a Mouse a Cookie. Interactive centers were set up for the preschool and K-2 students from all three campuses to experience activities found in the book. Included in these centers was a center for sweeping and mopping, art projects with tape, straws and crayons, playing in mouse holes made from cardboard boxes, computer time for story exploration, cookies and milk, and the chance to make a cool whip “milk” moustache. A story teller read the book to the students, and each student received a copy of their own. Parents were able to collect resources and ideas about literacy. A special thank you goes to all who worked to make this day possible, including the dedicated volunteers!
