Weather

On the North & South Rim, the weather is similar to Flagstaff.  The North Rim is slightly colder and 1000 feet higher than the South Rim.  On October 9, 2009, the North Rim high was 58 and the low was 32.   The South Rim was 64 and 34.   But it was warm this year and 2010 could be much colder.

Phantom Ranch (the bottom) is similar in temperature to Phx.  On October 9, 2009, the high was 83.

The temperature quickly rises as you drop below the rim and into the canyon.  Most people will shed their layers relatively quickly.
