WAYS TO GIVE
The Foundation for Blind Children depends on charitable giving to provide the best programs and services possible for blind, low vision and multiply impaired individuals. Your gifts are very important to us! Cash: The simplest and most direct type of charitable gift is outright cash. Your donation can be applied to our program services - infant, preschool, elementary, secondary, library technology center; the building fund, a tribute gift in honor or memory of a loved one; and the endowment fund. United Way Contribution: You may also designate your United Way donation to the Foundation for Blind Children by specifying our organization code is 1433. Securities and Real Estate: Such gifts generate a double tax benefit. In addition to receiving an income tax deduction for the full, fair market value of the property, the donor escapes any potential tax on the capital-gain element in the gifted property. The proceeds of the gift can be designated as an outright cash gift. In-Kind Gifts: The needs of the Foundation for Blind Children vary widely from program to program. Occasionally gifts of personal property, office equipment, even works of art can be extremely beneficial to the foundation. The tax deduction depends on the standard of 'related use'. Vehicle Donation Program: The Foundation also accepts donations of vehicles which may earn you a potential tax deduction. To find out more about this program please call Barbra Smith at (602)331-1470 Ext. 102. Bequests and Wills: You can designate the Foundation for Blind Children as a beneficiary in your estate plans through your trust or will document. You can direct the foundation to receive a specific gift, a specified dollar amount or a residual amount of your estate. Gifts under wills enable individuals to make significant gifts that they may not have been able to make during their lifetime. Planned Gifts: You may be surprised to learn that effective planning combined with charitable giving can create significant savings - both now and in the future. Planned gifts are excellent vehicles for benefiting charitable organizations. Such gifts offer major planning opportunities to minimize federal and state taxes and increasing the possibilities for effective distribution of assets.
