Assistive Technology Instructor

Term: Full Time

Description:

This position is part of our Assistive Technology Center and provides instruction in the area of assistive technology for our clients.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Instructs Technology Center clients in the use of assistive and general market software and hardware.

  • Supports and trains FBC staff in the use of computer systems and software.

  • Assists in the Development of training material, (handouts etc.) for clients and staff training sessions.

  • Assists in the development of curriculum

  • Assures all computers used by clients are kept in optimal running condition by; performing regular testing, configuring , reporting problems to IT staff, and following up to make sure repairs are completed

  • Assists in assistive and general technology evaluation projects

  • Participates in client staffings and other meetings as needed

  • Writes all reports/letters needed by the program manager and/or client referral organization outlining client training sessions activity and client progress.

  • Performs other tasks and duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred from an accredited college in the computer science field and one year of experience, or two years experience in training individuals in the use of a variety of general and assistive technology software and hardware products

  • Excellent oral and written communications skills
