Year End Tax Credits Available

The time is NOW!  Foundation for Blind Children is encouraging individuals and busPhoto of W-2 tax formsinesses to donate now.

Because of the special services the Foundation for Blind Children provides to the community, FBC qualifies for multiple tax credits. These include:

Charitable Tax Credit
An individual income tax credit is available for organizations that provide assistance to the working poor and disabled children (claimed by the taxpayer on Form 321). The maximum credit is $400 for married taxpayers and $200 for single taxpayers. The tax-payer receives a dollar for dollar credit, as opposed to a deduction, against their Arizona tax liability. You can also include it as a charitable donation on your Federal return. To view our FAQ sheet, please click here.
A $400 donation can provide a blind baby with services for nearly six months!.

School Tax Credits for Individuals (available until April 15th)
An individual may claim a credit for making a donation to a School Tuition Organization for scholarships to private schools. This dollar-for-dollar private school tuition tax credit is claimed by the individual taxpayer on Form 323 and helps redirect tax money to cover private school expenses for needy families. The maximum credit is $1,000 for married taxpayers and $500 for single taxpayers. For more information, visit www.schoolchoicearizona.org.

Tax Credits for Corporations
A.R.S §§20-224.06 and 43-1184 allow Private School Tuition Organizations to provide educational scholarships from corporate donations to qualified disabled or displaced students (claimed by the corporation on Form 341). A qualified disabled/displaced student is a student who has been either:

1.)  Placed in foster care in Arizona pursuant to A.R.S. Title 8, Chapter 5 at any time before the student graduates from high school or obtains a general equivalency diploma.

2.)  Identified as having a disability under Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act or identified by a school district as a child with a disability as defined in §15-761 or a child with a disability who is eligible to receive services from a school district under §15-763.
