Photo of house wrapped in dollar billsSecurities and Real Estate: Such gifts generate a double tax benefit. In addition to receiving an income tax deduction for the full, fair market value of the property, the donor escapes any potential tax on the capital-gain element in the gifted property. The proceeds of the gift can be designated as an outright cash gift. To find out more about this program please call Barbra Smith at (602) 331-1470 Ext. 102.

In-Kind Gifts: The needs of the Foundation for Blind Children vary widely from program to program. Occasionally gifts of personal property, office equipment, even works of art can be extremely beneficial to the foundation. The tax deduction depends on the standard of 'related use'. To find out more about this program please call Barbra Smith at (602) 331-1470 Ext. 102.

Vehicle Donation Program: The Foundation also accepts donations of vehicles which may earn you a potential tax deduction. To find out more about this program please call Barbra Smith at (602) 331-1470 Ext. 102.

Bequests and Wills: You can designate the Foundation for Blind Children as a beneficiary in your estate plans through your trust or will document. You can direct the foundation to receive a specific gift, a specified dollar amount or a residual amount of your estate. Gifts under wills enable individuals to make significant gifts that they may not have been able to make during their lifetime.

Charitable Tax Credits (End of Year Giving): Because of the special services the Foundation for Blind Children provides to the community, the State of Arizona has provided two state tax credits that benefit the FBC directly.

1.)  Arizona Charitable Tax Credit - Arizona Tax Credit for Contributions to Charities that provide assistance to the Working Poor and Disabled Children:  Because of the special services we provide to the community, FBC qualifies for the Charitable Tax Credit.  Arizona provides a tax credit for cash contributions made to qualifying charitable organizations that provide help to the working poor and disabled. Every Arizona taxpayer who itemizes deductions is eligible by donating up to $ 400 as a married couple or $ 200 if filing separately. The taxpayer receives a dollar for dollar credit, as opposed to a deduction, against their Arizona tax liability. You can also include it as a charitable deduction on your Federal return. Arizona taxpayers have until December 31st to make their contributions. The Arizona Charitable Tax Credit gives every taxpayer an opportunity to win three ways: (1) Assist the working poor in Arizona (2) Assist the Foundation for Blind Children in fulfilling its mission of helping children and their families to achieve in spite of vision loss and (3) Receive a dollar for dollar tax credit against their Arizona tax liability.

Your $400 donation can provide a blind baby with services for nearly six months!

2.)  Arizona Private School Tuition Tax Credit:  The Arizona Private School Tuition Tax Credit Law allows a married couple filing jointly to make a donation each year up to $1000 and received a dollar-for-dollar tax credit against the taxpayer’s Arizona state income tax.  A single taxpayer is limited to $500.  If the taxpayer has actual Arizona state income tax less than the maximum allowable, the available credit in a given year is limited to the actual tax.  The law allows a carry forward for up to five years if the donation is made in excess of the actual income tax due.  Arizona state income tax forms 301 and 323 are used for claiming the credit.

Please Note: You will be redirected to School Choice Arizona's secure website to process this donation, as they are the clearinghouse for this program.
