Back to Products and Sales InformationBRAILLE EMBOSSERSWHAT IS A BRAILLE EMBOSSER?Simply put, a braille embosser is a braille printer. It embosses braille onto paper via code sent to it by a braille translation software program. Some embossers can emboss to both sides of a page, while others can only emboss on one side. Embossers commonly used by private individuals and non-commercial production centers emboss at a rate of 15 to 60 characters per second, (CPS). The cost ranges from approximately $1,800.00 to $4,100.00. FOR WHOM IS THIS TECHNOLOGY APPROPRIATE?This technology should be used by anyone who has a need to produce hard-copy braille for his/her self or for another person. In order to use one, you will need the Duxbury Braille Translator software. This software can be used in a very visual way, making it easy for a sited person to produce braille for a blind person.
