COMPUTER SCREEN MAGNIFICATION TECHNOLOGY

What is COMPUTER SCREEN MAGNIFICATION TECHNOLOGY?

Computer screen magnification software is a program that enlarges the screen image, (text, icons, menus, and graphics) from 2 - 20 times. Most also allow the user to select the foreground and background colors of his or her choice. Some also provide speech output support. Screen enlargement packages are available for the Windows 95/98/ME and NT, 2000, and XP operating systems. They range in price from $395.00 - $595.00.

FOR WHOM IS THIS TECHNOLOGY BENEFICIAL?

Though MAGNIFICATION SOFTWARE won't benefit everyone with limited vision, it is generally a very powerful tool for those who can read large print such as a newspaper article title or headline, large print text books and magazines, large fonts on a computer, large print in magazine and television ads, or those who can efectively read print that is about two inches in height. If you're not able to read text such as that given in these examples, please don't assume you cannot use this technology. The best way to know if it will benefit you is to come and let us demonstrate it for you or have an assessment done. You should also consider having a low vision examination done by a low vision specialist.
