Return to Products and SalesELECTRONIC NOTE TAKERSWHAT IS AN ELECTRONIC NOTE TAKER?Simply put, it is an adapted personal data assistant (PDA). It allows the user to:
Some note takers have a "Brailler" style keyboard, while others have a "Qwerty" keyboard. All of the available electronic note takers have built-in speech output. Some also have a built-in refreshable Braille display. The number of Braille cells on the display ranges from eighteen to forty. Additionally, some of these note takers can be connected to a computer and used as a refreshable braille display for the computer. Finally, these note takers will also double as a speech synthesizer. FOR WHOM IS THIS TECHNOLOGY APPROPRIATE?Anyone who needs to write down information and is unable to read their handwriting effectively should use an electronic note taker. The person's efficiency in using a brailler style keyboard and qwerty keyboard is the primary determining factor as to which note taker keyboard style he or she should use. Several factors determine whether a person should use a note taker with a braille display. Contact us for more information. PRODUCTS AVAILABLE FROM THE FBC
